Underberg- It’s hot. It’s sunny. And it’s all happening up in Underberg on the Splashy Fen Farm. Food stalls are open with the fresh smell of gourmet toasted sandwiches, bacon and egg and delicious coffee filling the air and welcoming campers as they set up for a full 4-days of music, merriment and magic. With over 6 500 fans set to arrive and more than 300 acts performing across 5 unique stages… it’s going to be a fun Easter at Splashy Fen.In its 3rd year under the management of Impi Concept Events, Splashy Fen has certainly re-introduced that friendly festival vibe that so many people have come to know and love over the years. As is evident in the positive pre-sale of more the 6 500 tickets and the excited talk on social media of those looking forward to attending this year.

The strategically thought-out venue layout boasts designated and decorated areas for all to enjoy, entertainment and chill zones, craft stalls and artisanal food vendors, separate camping areas for families, teepee owners, general happy campers and those who prefer something a bit less rustic at the Harambee Tented Village.

In keeping with Splashy’s goal to make each year bigger and better than before, there certainly are some interesting new things to spot on site. Look out for the 3-metre high look-out tower in the camping area, a magical Corona Beach experience down by the river, karaoke in the Country Club and wild and wacky art installations at every turn.

Early morning yoga sessions, trail runs, a fully-supervised Kid’s Zone, belly dancing workshops, drumming sessions and so much more. Campers are spoilt for choice when it comes to entertainment this year, and temperatures are expected to reach a high of 27. South Africa’s oldest and longest running music festival will not disappoint!

And of course, some seriously great music to kick off the festival. Today’s musical line-up includes the likes of Gemma Early, Chadwick Jubber, Lindo M, Dani Foster and Rusty Red on the Treehouse Stage; and Sol Natives, Mbijane, Bianca Santoro, Chico Muya, Isiqgisasekhaya, Freddy-L and Crimson House on the Acoustic Stage.

Artist Chad Jubber will be playing for his third year at Splashy Fen this weekend. “Every year it just keeps getting better and better,” says Jubber. “Splashy Fen is the only place where I feel that I can truly be myself. That’s one of the many reasons why I keep coming back.”
